April Jasper, OD, FAAO
Co-Founder
April Jasper, OD, FAAO is an optometrist, author, professional speaker, and co-founder with a distinguished career in clinical practice, education, and optometric leadership. She graduated with highest honors from Nova Southeastern University's College of Optometry and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. Dr. Jasper is the owner of Advanced Eyecare Specialists in West Palm Beach, Florida, and serves as Chief Optometric Editor of Optometric Management magazine.
With decades of experience in patient care and professional advocacy, Dr. Jasper has held numerous leadership and academic roles, including Past President of the Florida Optometric Association and Past Benedict Professor of Practice Management at the University of Houston College of Optometry. She is the author of Creating Your Business of Distinction and lectures nationally on eye care, leadership, customer service, and practice development. As a co-founder, Dr. Jasper brings a clinician-driven perspective focused on delivering meaningful value, advancing standards of care, and supporting optometrists and their teams through practical, experience-based education.
Katie Gilbert-Spear, OD, JD, MPH
Co-Founder
Katie Gilbert-Spear, OD, JD, MPH brings a rare combination of clinical, public health, and legal expertise to the healthcare industry. Her education includes a Doctor of Optometry and Master of Public Health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, a Biomedical Sciences degree from Auburn University, and a Juris Doctor with a concentration in Health Law and Compliance from Mitchell Hamline School of Law.
With more than 15 years of experience, Dr. Gilbert-Spear works with healthcare providers and organizations on compliance, regulatory strategy, risk management, and policy development. She has been featured in professional publications and serves as an appointed member of the Florida Board of Optometry. Her approach is grounded in real-world clinical experience and a deep understanding of the healthcare regulatory landscape.
