OHTS/EGPS POAG Risk Calculator

Evidence-based 5-year risk estimation for ocular hypertension patients

Clinical Disclaimer

This calculator is based on the OHTS/EGPS POAG Risk Model and is intended for educational and clinical decision support purposes only. About This Calculator

OHTS/EGPS Model

This calculator is based on the Ocular Hypertension Treatment Study (OHTS) and European Glaucoma Prevention Study (EGPS) risk model, which is widely used in research and clinical practice.

Risk Categories

  • Low Risk (0-9%): Monitor annually
  • Moderate Risk (10-19%): Consider closer follow-up
  • High Risk (20%+): Consider treatment initiation

Key Input Parameters

  • IOP: Average or worst-eye intraocular pressure
  • CCT: Central corneal thickness in microns
  • C/D Ratio: Vertical cup-to-disc ratio from optic nerve assessment
  • PSD: Pattern standard deviation from visual field testing

Clinical Considerations

This tool is designed for patients with ocular hypertension who have not yet developed glaucoma. Results should be interpreted alongside other clinical findings including gonioscopy, optic nerve imaging, and patient preferences.
